Celebrate Black History Month

leslie-wimesThe Democratic Women’s Club of Northeast Broward will celebrate Black History Month with guest speaker, Leslie Wimes, Founder and President of the Democratic African-America Women’s Caucus.

Leslie Wimes is founder and President of the Democratic African-American Women’s Caucus and founder of Women on the Move. Leslie has been instrumental in growing the DAAWC to 4,000 members, mostly African-America Women who were disenfranchised with the political process. Through the DAAWC, Leslie has brought those women back to the Democratic Party, and hopes to be the driving force behind a Democratic Presidential win in 2016.

Having founded Women on The Move in 2008, Leslie has been responsible for empowering Women all over the country. A life-long Democrat, Leslie has a particular interest in Social Justice issues.
